Looking to get certified to teach internationally? The IPDFA PolePro Instructor Courses offer intensive training and teacher exchange programs globally.

The IPDFA PolePro Instructor Courses (International Pole Dance Fitness Association) and certification is a comprehensive instructor course/certification that is recognized internationally by fitness associations of Australia, New Zealand, China, Europe, the United States, the UK as well as the Federation of International Sports, Fitness and Aerobics. It is currently the only accredited course in Australia.

About the PolePro Courses

The course materials are available through online tutorials and each student is assigned a Master Trainer who serves as their mentor and private tutor. There are also video webinars that further explain details in the courses.

There are four levels of certification that you can attain through the IPDFA PolePro Instructor Courses:

Level 1  -  Intermediate  -  Advanced  -  Master

The courses are taught in both English and Spanish and in live workshops in several countries where there is Master Trainer availability. You can also gain the certifications through the courses online – still assigned a Master Trainer as your tutor and you get a year to finish the certification at each level.

What will I learn? 

There is quite a bit of material that you will learn through taking these courses - here is a general overview of what you will learn in order to be a certified pole dance instructor through the IPDFA:

  • A thorough understanding of the way muscles work when training on a pole
  • How to know when/what muscle areas a student needs conditioning in
  • How to develop a conditioning program for a students individual needs
  • Ability to recognize injury versus weakness
  • Ability to help prevent injury
  • How to accommodate an injured student within a group
  • How to progress another student in that same group
  • How to help your students understand the concepts behind moves
  • Understanding the physics and forces behind spins and seated moves
  • How to perform 50 variations and techniques of seated and spin moves
  • Understanding of hand grips
  • Understanding of inversions – body alignment, how to perform and teach correctly, safely and with ease
  • Understanding of how to perform and teach correctly twisted and cupped grips, handsprings, shoulder mounting and aerial inverting
  • How to spot a student, how to balance when spotting, the why and how of spotting
  • Ability to design an entire class plan
  • Ability to design a warm up, conditioning and cool-down
  • Ability to design a group choreographed routine

  • 3-day Live Workshops are $725USD
  • Level 1 Course $650USD
  • Intermediate Course $650USD
  • Advanced Course $650USD
  • Master Instructor Course $1500USD per level (each level has its own Master certification)

About Tracey Ecclestone

Tracey, a highly qualified pole instructor, heads the PolePro Courses division for the IDPFA as the Director and is also the Vice President for the organization. 

She has been in the pole dance fitness industry for over a decade and owns WA Aerial Fitness in Western Australia.

She’s also the author of the internationally selling Pole & Lyra 101 Handbook collection. She also has produced 6 SWA pole dance competitions. She currently is the head judge for the 2018 International Pole Championships.

She has a background in gymnastics and has trained in circus and aerial arts and has gained recognition in the past 10 years for judging a wide variety of state, national and international competitions. Her teaching style focuses on conditioning, strength and control.
