Zumba, also known as a 'fitness-party' is a Latin-inspired dance that was created to workout to. It has quickly become a popular fitness class in many gyms and even pole dance studios!
The moves incorporate salsa, merengue, cumbia and other Latin dances and is and easy-to-follow and fun to learn dance workout. In this class you let the music move you instead of working out to boring tempos in traditional aerobic classes like step aerobics. Here you can let go and let your body express itself in movement!
I trained and got my certificate to teach this dance style and had a load of fun learning to create my own dance routines and choreography. This is a great way to lose weight and or a good way to get back into exercising if you have been sedentary for awhile.
The Zumba Beginners DVD is a good place to start if you want to start and learn the moves before joining a class.
